BayKiter was created by local Bay Area kiters who wanted a modern, centralized resource for our kiteboarding community. We're passionate about the sport and committed to growing the community safely.

Safety & Advocacy

Kiteboarding is an incredible sport, but safety comes first. We're committed to promoting responsible riding across the Bay Area.

  • Always check conditions before heading out
  • Never kite alone — use the buddy system
  • Know your skill level and respect it
  • Take a certified lesson before your first session
  • Respect other beach users and right-of-way rules
  • Carry a safety knife and know your self-rescue

    SFBA.org is the local advocacy organization that works to protect and maintain kite access at Bay Area beaches. They organize safety clinics, lead cleanup events, and represent our sport to local agencies and communities.
